7th session of IB meeting

Nov. 22nd. 2007

written by the Secretary General 07-08

I.       The increase of IB Tax

l  It has been agreed to draft the list of expenses during our terms of office. Ex.) The expenses for the environmental Project, production of the Blueprint, Law review, ALSA website, etc.

II.      The progress on the ALSA website

l  The contents that had been requested to all NCs for the website was not received from Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and the Philippines.

l  Due to the final exam, and some substantial problems concerning the program that was planned on using, the tangible progress would have to wait till January.

l  The request has been made to the PR coordinator to send the Blue print of ALSA when it is finished.

III.     The matters concerning the AusLSA

l  We should first find out what form of merger that AusLSA have in mind

l  We shall arrange an online meeting with AusLSA through MSN to discuss of this matter.

l  As IB is not the ones who has the authority to make decisions on their own concerning the merger, we should reserve our opinions during the MSN meeting and discuss this on the GC.

IV.    The amendment of ALSA Constitution

l  Our current ALSA lacks in the ability to act as one unity, and the role of the International Board is not well established nor is it stated on the Constitution. Therefore we should think of some fundamental reforms on the operating system of International Board, and the activities of ALSA as a unity.

l  Further explanation on this matter shall be made through alsa_ib yahoo group.

V.     The Environmental Project

l  The actions proceeded under this Environmental project shall be made before the Asian Forum 2008 in Thailand. But there is a problem that most of the NC and the LC have set their plans for the year by the AC, so it would be hard for them to arrange such activities.

l  Further discussion shall be done through the alsa_ib yahoo group.
