10th session of IB meeting

Introduction
The last IB meeting before the GC meeting in AC was held to go over all the agendas of the Governing Council meeting for the last time.

Raising IB Tax

Proposal 1

Equal about of 35us dollars from each National Chapters as IB Tax

Proposal 2
10 us dollars from each Local Chapters
-
Proposal 3
10 us dollars from each Local Chapters, but set a maximum amount that one NC has to pay.
The controversy on this matter was not settled. Thus we shall discuss this in Malaysia.

Relations with the Australian Law Students’ Association
-
The pros and cons of having interactions with Australian Law Students’ Association shall be presented on the GC meeting.

The problems concerning the merger or acceptance of AusLSA, such as the name of the organization after the merger/acceptance, whether or not we should choose to associate with AusLSA etc. are likely to be raised.

Environmental Project
-
GC shall decide whether this project should take effect in the upcoming AF in Thailand, or after the AF.

There were some controversies over the payment of the expenses that is accompanied by this project. This matter is greatly related to the IB tax and the tentative conclusion was to set a maximum amount of money compensated from the IB account, and the rest shall be paid by the OC. However this is to be decided during the GC meeting.

Integrated sponsorship

ALSA Profile book in form of a CD and in hardcopy shall be presented during the GC meeting.

The purpose of this profile book is to promote sponsors and to provide information about ALSA to other institutions.

As the benefit in return for the sponsors, we can provide internships for their firms, and expose their logos on our website.

Compensation from the IB account
-
The estimate of 346.548USD is to be compensated to ALSA Korea for the expenses made on the website as posted on the alsa_ib.
-
50 USD is to be compensated to Melvin for the Law Review.
-
The IB Treasurer is requested to withdraw 500USD from the IB bank account and bring it to AC in Malaysia for compensation.
